The Gar Woods Polar Bear Swim takes place during the Tahoe City SnowFest! each year (February & March). This year the swim was celebrated during one of the largest (and only) snow storms of 2015. Brrrr!! Swimmers endured the 39 degree, bone chilling water and had to swim approximately 250 yards to complete the race. Fewer swimmers participated this year than most... but that meant more hot tub space and extra Wet Woodys for those brave souls! The hugely popular raffle took place in the Gar Woods' Speed Boat Bar immediately following the race. Some great raffle prizes were given out this year thanks to local sponsors and everyone had a great time celebrating the much needed snowstorm in the spirit of SnowFest!
