TAHOE CITY, Calif. — The 62nd Annual North Tahoe Community Awards Dinner was hosted by the North Tahoe Chamber/CVB/Resort Association this past Wednesday, April 20th at the Resort at Squaw Creek. Tahoe Restaurant Collection was recognized among other local businesses and organizations for their contributions and dedication to the North Lake Tahoe community.
This year, more than 250 local business owners, community leaders and members were in attendance to join in on the celebration. Tahoe Restaurant Collection was awarded the Large Business of the Year Award for 2014 (since they were not able to attend last year’s award ceremony). Tom Turner was grateful for the honor and delivered an entertaining speech paired with fun banter with the designated emcee for the night, Dave Mulligan of Mad Mulligan Productions. Turner then presented a trophy to the 2015 Large Business of the Year, The Bridgetender Tavern & Grill. In addition to receiving the 2014 Business of the Year Award, Tom was given an award by The Tahoe Fund who gave a presentation highlighting the ongoing support received by Gar Woods, Riva Grill, Bar of America and Caliente! Tom and his managers who joined him that evening left the ceremony feeling honored for the recognition received by the North Tahoe Community. They will proudly display their trophies and are honored to be recognized by the North Lake Tahoe Community and the Tahoe Fund.

Tahoe finally had a much needed snowy winter but now temperatures are rising and people are soaking up the sun whenever they can. Gar Woods Grill & Pier in Carnelian Bay has seen a large increase in outdoor diners over the past week. Even after last weeks snow storm it is feeling more and more like summer. The days are getting longer and soon we'll start seeing more boats on the lake. Wet Woody Wednesdays will be back soon and Gar Woods is gearing up for another great Summer!
